the text:
“. . . a sculpture of a wishing well about the relationship between 2 identical twin brothers.
the well includes a ‘live’ video feed of a therapy session between a therapist chatbot and a paranoid twin, named Drew Andrews, who is stuck at the bottom of the wishing well.
He is mostly complaining to his therapist about his annoyng twin brother, Andy Andrews, who obsessively follows him around and imitates his every gesture.”

Phil . . writes of this painting on his IG page:
“I like thinking about the moment at a concert when everyone puts their lighters (or nowadays phones)
in the air, in a collective expression of euphoric appreciation.”
I was thinking in no order: plastic vs glass / expressionism vs realism / flame vs spark / euphoria crowd vs vandalism riot /
change vs entropy & finally, when I first came to stay in NYC, seeing Gerhard Richter candle paintings in the early 80s, and thinking: this guy is going to be very famous.

ART LOVERS / COSMIC . . . FLASHBACK !!!!!

BOBO . . .
from left: singer DREW GILLESPIE, NICK PAYNE on keyboards & PHIL COTE on guitar
PHOTO: NANCY SMITH, NYC / March 24, 2007
I first encountered BOBO, a wild, at that time Philly-based 3 person artist-performance band / art collective.
by sheer luck, I had stumbled upon them at their very first NYC gig, at some after-party in a huge old dive bar,
in the East Village. they were dressed as old timey newspaper boys.
the crowd grew quickly & alarmingly, from 12 fans to a packed packed house.
everybody jumping up and down to the music so hard – on an old creaking wood floor, they NYC floors – used to be.
I thought – seriously !! the floor was about to give way at any moment.

PHIL COTE, at the most incredible / BOBO & JESSE GREENBERG produced . . ‘Hot Mud Fest’, summer of 2017 !!
at the rambling farm where BOBO has relocated in Hudson Valley, N.Y.
a weekend of on-site . . crazy great art, poetry, yes, even pond wading & a pop-up BBQ from Brooklyn.

9 days into 2021 . . ?
& whaaaaaaaaa…………….
where’s . . . the turn-off switch ?

two different boots / two different colored hands ?
one body.
is it a stretch . . to say: a divided USA ?
vibrant, intense, but dysfunctional. or at least . . troubled. opaque.
apparently, if you read about the founding fathers, nothing much is . . new.
I’m thinking, for whatever that’s worth (!!),
it’s not the concept of ‘country’ per se /
it’s more . . human nature. and that’s nano/bio human nature as well: cells vs cells.
but I mean just generally, left all alone on an island, a person would prob hang themselves.
unless maybe they started star-gazing, making friends with the stars, or the fish / or making some kind of art.
it’s always . . war vs creation.
and then . . there was light.

2 words: Rapid Corona
so, what I want to know is: what’s . . DNA vs RNA ?!!
