<\/p>\n<p> <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/photos\/helle_card_.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"245\" alt=\"helle card\" class=\"centered\" \/><br \/>\nHELLE MARDAHL &#8211; &#8216;An Orgy&#8217;, limited edition print. 2009<\/p>\n<p>last week to catch:<br \/>\nHELLE MARDAHL &#8211; &#8216;The Largest Possible Audience&#8217;<br \/>\nAPRIL 29  &#8211; MAY 30, 2009<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.laviolabank.com\/\">LaVIOLA BANK  GALLERY<\/a> &#8211; 179 EAST BROADWAY &#8211; LOWER EAST SIDE &#8211; NYC <\/p>\n<p>HELLE MARDAHL (b. 1976) was formally educated as a fashion designer, obviously with an eye towards fashion, and serious seamstress and all-around sewing skills, at the Centre Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London.<br \/>\nApparently, she currently plies her sewing skills, and creativity &#8211; not as a fashion designer, but as an artist.<br \/>\nand a fairly dark dramatic one, at that !!<br \/>\nHelle is currently based in Copenhagen, Denmark.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/photos\/Helle___2.jpg\" width=\"319\" height=\"450\" alt=\"Helle # 2\" class=\"centered\" \/><br \/>\nHELLE MARDAHL &#8211; &#8216;The Ego Queen&#8217;, 2007. mixed media, including a lot of stitching. 104 x 47 x 43 in.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/photos\/Helle___3.jpg\" width=\"192\" height=\"450\" alt=\"helle # 3\" class=\"centered\" \/><br \/>\nshe&#8217;s also a graphic artist, as in illustration and painting.<br \/>\nHELLE MARDAHL &#8211; &#8216;The Balancing Pixie&#8217;, 2009. acrylic on linen. 65 x 28 in.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/photos\/Helle___4.jpg\" width=\"170\" height=\"450\" alt=\"helle # 4\" class=\"centered\" \/><br \/>\nHELLE MARDAHL &#8211; &#8216;The Dependent Woman&#8217;, acrylic on linen. 76 x 27 in.<br \/>\nobviously  &#8211; not !! ALLEGRA LaVIOLA &#8211; are the co-founders of the gallery which bears their names, and which is one of the brighter spots on the Lower East Side.
