&#8211; TO-NITE !!<br \/>\nSUNDAY &#8211; NOVEMBER 2, 2008 &#8211; at 7 PM !!<br \/>\nLISA COOLEY FINE ART &#8211; 34 ORCHARD ST &#8211; BTWN HESTER + CANAL &#8211; LOWER EAST SIDE, NY<br \/>\nfor more info, &#038; artist statements, see:<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lisa-cooley.com\/events\/\"> LISA COOLEY FINE ARTS\/EVENTS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>FOUR ARTISTS GIVE CONCISE PRESENTATIONS ON DISPARATE METHODS FOR PREDICTING THE FUTURE !!<\/p>\n<p>well, it was an intriguing nite. give me mysticism over technology, or is it the other way, around ? any ole time.<br \/>\nin fact,  what these 4 artists, tried to show, with their &#8216;visual aids&#8217;, i.e. projected self-made graphs, and extensive research,  was that mysticism is just a small element, if that &#8211; in the science of their particular field of expertise . .  .<br \/>\nwe also got to see some of the ANDY COOLQUITT &#8211; &#8216;LIGHT&#8217; &#8211;  exhibit &#8211; currently up, at LISA COOLEY &#8211; until NOV 16. the show obviously being arranged to make room for the nite&#8217;s seating,<br \/>\nthese sometimes eerie, often whimsical, but mostly light-handed and light-hearted !! &#8211; how apt !!<br \/>\nand, so we were specifically told &#8211; to put all decisions on hold for 9 days. meaning NOV 11th.<br \/>\nhow auspicious, so &#8211; look out for big changes on artlovers, NOV 11th. already under consideration.<br \/>\n(now my web master, and you know who you are, Reverend !! has a little breathing room.)<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/photos\/tarot___7.jpg\" width=\"288\" height=\"384\" alt=\"tarot # 7\" class=\"centered\" \/><br \/>\nwell. he is really supposed to be hanging upside down like this. but upright &#8211; you can see he really does have sunny radiant aspects, it&#8217;s not really a death card &#8211; its more of an hanging man, than a hanged man  !!<br \/>\nand he is tied to the blooming tree, see the green leaves ? (of knowledge ? of life ? ) by a sturdy strip of leather, not just by a string &#8211; so we like that &#8211; !! &#8211;  though, sometimes it feels awfully much like we are hanging by a string.<br \/>\nand maybe the upside down part, therefore then reads: as going against the grain &#8211; as in i-n-d-i-e.<br \/>\nsturdy independence.<br \/>\nwe also see some positive in the fact that his hands are bound behind him. we see that he faces  &#8211; what are the fruits of others&#8217; labor &#8211; the art of others&#8217; hands &#8211;  not his own, and two, that whatever is making him hang upside down, instead of upright &#8211; is beyond his control. his hands are tied. fate. or society. being hampered by outside ignorance.
