SEPT 26 &#8211; OCT 12, 2008 !!<br \/>\nHRS: OPEN DAILY 11am &#8211; 7pm<\/p>\n<p>first off, the gallery isn&#8217;t based in London, per se &#8211;  it&#8217;s in NEWCASTLE. second, not all the artists are Brits either, BAST seems to be based in BROOKLYN, JR is  from France, and CONOR HARRINGTON hails from CORK, IRELAND. MARK JENKINS is a native of WASHINGTON, DC and TODD JAMES aka REAS is a BROOKLYN native who lives and works in NYC.<\/p>\n<p>one of the best aspects of the installation is its lighting quick rough and ready, get in there &#038; get out &#8211; conversion of a BOWERY trademark &#8211; RESTAURANT\/KITCHEN\/CHAIR SUPPLY STORE &#8211; to a guerilla exhibition space &#8211; that harks back &#8211; to the good ole days &#8211; of the wild ROGUE pop-up shows of the 80&#8217;s, before the term &#8216;POP-up&#8217; existed !! They did a damn good job &#8211; of leaving the space really raw and yet: functioning as a great showcase for their brand of art. The Lazarides take on street art seems to be heavily leaning on the dark side &#8211; and the genre&#8217;s statesmen; nothing wrong with that, just an observation, (and there are several contradictions to this statement in the show, i.e. the pop graphics of TODD JAMES &#038; the youthful visions of CONOR HARRINGTON !!)  as opposed to,  say the current, and <em>slightly<\/em> more ahead-of-the-curve = pop graphic street art show show: &#8216;4 GEEZERS: LONDON POLICE, FLYING FORTRESS, PEZ &#038; EINE&#8217; &#8211; curated by ANDREW MICHAEL FORD at BROOKLYN&#8217;S own AD HOC GALLERY.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;4 GEEZERS: LONDON POLICE, FLYING FORTRESS, PEZ &#038; EINE&#8217; &#8211; SEPT 12-OCT 12, 2008<br \/>\nphotos from that opening to post on &#8211; TUESDAY SEPT 30th !!<br \/>\nsee: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adhocart.org\/\">AD HOC GALLERY &#8211; &#8216;4 GEEZERS&#8217;<\/a><\/p>\n<p> . . . that being said &#8211; the opening was a blast &#8211; !! &#8211;  fueled by an open BELVEDERE bar. &#8216;OUTSIDERS NY&#8217; &#8211; is a very very interesting and large survey show, with a wide range &#8211; the work was great !! &#8211; and looked fantastic &#8211; PARIS &#8211; you could have caught some of his iconic 8 bit video-game aliens &#8211; in tile mosaics, cemented up in Chelsea, last Spring (2008) &#8211; they&#8217;re down now &#8211; whether thru grafitti clean-up police\/or removed by sharp-eyed collectors &#8211;
