{"id":6155,"date":"2011-07-14T10:35:38","date_gmt":"2011-07-14T15:35:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/?p=6155"},"modified":"2011-08-01T11:41:50","modified_gmt":"2011-08-01T16:41:50","slug":"alexander-mcqueen-savage-beauty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/the-bomb\/2011\/07\/14\/alexander-mcqueen-savage-beauty\/","title":{"rendered":"~ALEXANDER McQUEEN\/SAVAGE BEAUTY"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ok. already.  artlovers is coming back to life.<br \/>\nwhat ?<br \/>\ndidn&#8217;t you know &#8211;  a dead artist apparently &#8211; is the best artist.<br \/>\nnot that playing dead got me anywhere &#8211; but hey a person can dream, can&#8217;t they ?<\/p>\n<p>and, yes the NYC summer belongs to a dead artist &#8211; ALEXANDER McQUEEN !!<br \/>\nwhose SAVAGE BEAUTY on display at the MET &#8211; is racking up the crowds, and you know the locals don&#8217;t stand in line for naught. get there early. there&#8217;s already a 45 minute wait by 10:30.<br \/>\nthe production is a-m-a-z-i-n-g. the backdrops intense, the music severely disco spooky, and absolutely apt.<br \/>\nthe only thing that beats the choice of brief quotes &#8211; straight from the maestro&#8217;s heart  &#8211; &#8220;I live between life and death&#8221; &#8211; are the clothes themselves.<br \/>\nwhich are almost unbearably sublime and dynamic. from the chic chic severe tailoring of his graduate student days thru the RAPE OF ..
