{"id":549,"date":"2008-03-14T09:52:02","date_gmt":"2008-03-14T14:52:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/the-bomb\/2008\/03\/14\/richard-dupontlever-house\/"},"modified":"2008-04-07T16:12:36","modified_gmt":"2008-04-07T21:12:36","slug":"richard-dupontlever-house","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/the-bomb\/2008\/03\/14\/richard-dupontlever-house\/","title":{"rendered":"~RICHARD DUPONT\/LEVER HOUSE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>RICHARD DUPONT &#8211; &#8216;TERMINAL STAGE&#8217;<br \/>\nMARCH 14 &#8211; MAY 3, 2008<br \/>\nLEVER HOUSE LOBBY GALLERY &#8211; 390 PARK AVE &#8211; NY<\/p>\n<p>Nine figures, ea. approx. 80 ins. tall in cast polyurethane resin<br \/>\nthese larger than life-size free standing self-portraits  &#8211; started with a full body laser scan, and then through the use of computer programming,  DUPONT maneuvers the forms into surreal shapes which were then converted into a three dimensional model and cast. <\/p>\n<p>ABY ROSEN, of LEVER HOUSE has indeed assembled a stunning public art piece with this show of RICHARD DUPONT&#8217;S eerie futuristic polyresin figures &#8211; presented with flair and audacity in the transparency of the building&#8217;s street level floor-to-ceiling glass walled entrance lobby. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/photos\/Dupont___1.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"337\" alt=\"Dupont # 1\" class=\"centered\" \/><br \/>\na view inside the LEVER HOUSE LOBBY<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/photos\/DuPont___2.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"337\" alt=\"Dupont # 2\" class=\"centered\" \/><br \/>\nRICHARD DUPONT, in a classic stance, with one of his sculptures at right<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/photos\/Dupont___3.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"337\" alt=\"Dupont # 3\" class=\"centered\" \/><br \/>\nfrom left, PER SKARSTEDT, the man who made RICHARD PRINCE, and LARRY GAGOSIAN, the man who made everybody else.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/photos\/Dupont___4.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"337\" alt=\"Dupont # 4\" class=\"centered\" \/><br \/>\non the right, BOB COLACELLO, ANDY WARHOL associate, and INTERVIEW Editor for 12 years, starting in the early 70s. with SYDIE LANSING.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/photos\/Dupont___5.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"337\" alt=\"Dupont # 5\" class=\"centered\" \/><br \/>\nGLENN O&#8217;BRIEN the newly appointed co-editorial director for Brant Publications, including INTERVIEW, where he is the new editor-in-chief,  with his wife, GINA NANNI, of COMPANY AGENDA, a  P.R. firm.<br \/>\nGlenn O&#8217;Brien was previously an editor, and (art director!) at INTERVIEW back in the day, &#8220;when he was about 24&#8221; &#8211; before the COLACELLO reign.
