\n “New York has become the edgy city of the world. We’ve taken that title away from London” . . . the mayor said at a groundbreaking for an apartment building in Williamsburg. (!!)<\/p>\n

\nJANE KAUFMAN – invited us by her studio a few weeks ago. to see her new work.<\/p>\n

\nyes, she made the veil. she calls it, the ‘Evening Wear Burka’ . . .
\ndon’t think they’d like, even these more fashionable ones – in France, or anywhere else.<\/p>\n

\nJane does all the fabrication – all the beading, all the embroidery, all the embellishing – all the sequins – herself.
\nby hand. she learnt her ‘domestic’ skills, ha. double ha. as a young child from her grandmother – who hand-beaded costumes for the Russian circus, before the family immigrated to the US of A.<\/p>\n
