Aug 1st. <\/strong><br \/>\nleafy, green-ey, &#038; not too city, at all \/ open &#038; spacious.<br \/>\na little world all its own.<br \/>\ncalm &#038; delightful.<br \/>\nbut, I got to tell you &#8211; the art is world class &#038; fresh, fresh, fresh.<br \/>\nbut, <strong> none<\/strong> of it is screaming at you, oh happy day. seriously.<br \/>\nexcept maybe to say: hey . . .  look at me.<br \/>\nit&#8217;s like walking into a book, and the pages are mighty fun to turn.<br \/>\nand, so are the . . .  old, wooden staircases !!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/David-Kennedy-Cutler-flower-lightswitch-at-entry.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/David-Kennedy-Cutler-flower-lightswitch-at-entry.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"459\" height=\"612\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-43088\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/David-Kennedy-Cutler-flower-lightswitch-at-entry.jpg 459w, https:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/David-Kennedy-Cutler-flower-lightswitch-at-entry-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 459px) 100vw, 459px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\na DAVID KENNEDY CUTLER LIGHT SWITCH \/ TURN ONZ, DETROIT<br \/>\ngreets you, as you enter NADA House 404A \/ it is so well-made, and <strong>so <\/strong>well integrated !!<br \/>\nyou might just take it . .  for granted, so,<br \/>\nI&#8217;m just letting you know, again \/ look out  &#8211; for those light switches !!<br \/>\nthey be popping up, and rocking !! through-out  . . the houses.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know why I picked this particular NADA house to check out, first.<br \/>\nbut sure enough &#8211; in the &#8216;cloak room&#8217;, on the first floor, NADA House 404H<br \/>\nsee: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zawahra-alejandro.com\/\">ZAWAHARA ALEJANDRO, SAN JUAN<\/a><\/p>\n<p>of course, the cloak room is the first space that greets you as you enter \/  thus this was the first &#8216;exhibit&#8217; I saw,<br \/>\nand, it <strong>just<\/strong> stopped me in my tracks, literally. it was so imaginary, narrative, full of skill &#038; beauty \/ yet functional. the wood was incised to perfection, and burnished to a deep hues.<br \/>\nit definitely caught my eye and apparently, that of other reviewers,  as well.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Quintin-Rivera-Toro-wood-sculpture.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Quintin-Rivera-Toro-wood-sculpture.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"720\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-43092\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Quintin-Rivera-Toro-wood-sculpture.jpg 960w, https:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Quintin-Rivera-Toro-wood-sculpture-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Quintin-Rivera-Toro-wood-sculpture-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\ndetail, QUINTIN RIVERA TORO, previous photo.<br \/>\nthis looked to be a table, or shelf.<br \/>\nthere was something about riding a ferry, over water . . and waking among huge old trees, that really made this word &#8216;work&#8217; of the NADA project, sparked by the historic Governors Island architecture: including staircases, ceiling fixtures, old world spatial layouts, pane glass windows, old plastered (?) walls, &#038; wood. wood. wood.<\/p>\n<p>on a persona note,<br \/>\nI think, the small &#8216;distressed&#8217; elements, like the old peeling paint, etc adds much depth to the overall experience, and to the visual richness. making the modern city explorer, just that much more aware &#8211; in a very subtle way, of the underlying historic &#8211; beauty. and architectural, as well as cultural story.<br \/>\n404A was a  . .
