I SAW 3 . . . <\/strong> NEW VIDEO SCREENINGS, this weekend. so, maybe I saw 4<\/strong> new !!!!!! videos \/ this weekend ????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the next video I saw, projected onto a good sized wall, in a very hardcore \/ innovative alternative ‘gallery’ space in Chinatown, I actually viewed through the mini mall\/storefront glass window. let’s start one with the one I saw, in a rather ‘new wave’ fashion \/ that is, by social media ‘remote’<\/strong>, as in: <\/p>\n I caught<\/strong> a digital \/ video clip glimpse of . . an installation, by way of a beautifully shot – video posted to Instagram by @mountain.bushwick . . aka MICHAEL FLEMING. <\/p>\n MOUNTAIN is an artist-run space, so why<\/strong> the shock, that it’s founder\/director – can produce a pretty mean . . . video clip ?!!<\/p>\n the subject: the ‘lyrical quilt – video projection’ . . by MICHI MEKO & SAIGE ROWE, curated by SELENA GALLERY . . . \none was via Instagram, of a larger video screening projected unconventionally<\/strong> onto a quilt block !!
\nin a gallery in Atlanta, Georgia.
\nkind of like . . those nesting Russian eggs.
\nit was a tiny ‘video loop’ . . of a larger ‘video loop projection’ in an installation, that caught my attention.
\nin a city far away, Atlanta, Georgia – so there was no <\/strong>way I could have caught it otherwise. <\/p>\n
\nall different – SIZES !!!!!!!!!<\/p>\n
\nwhile the final viewing, took place in a more conventional gallery space, but with a ‘shockingly’ great big screen – upfront & personal !! <\/p>\n
\nfor a 2 part concurrent exhibition – now up at DAY & NIGHT PROJECTS, in Atlanta, Georgia.<\/p>\n

\nMICHI MEKO . . salvaged the vintage quilt \/ SAIGE ROWE . . made the video.
\nthe video is projected onto one block – of the old farm quilt. quite a pretty idea.
\nespecially because the video is all about greenery, & dirt & . . roots. the ’round’ circle . . of ‘life’.
\nthe ‘sampling’ of organic growth.
\nvery very moving<\/strong>. quick. graphic, fresh. & lyrical.

\nI quite liked this particular frame \/ because although the woman’s hand is about to pull up a ‘rooted’ plant, the gesture mimics a woman’s hand, sewing – a quilt.
