STUDIO VISIT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BRIAN WILLMONT STUDIO VISIT &#8211;  GREENPOINT, BROOKLYN. N.Y.<br \/>\nSAT OCT 25, 2014<\/p>\n<p>upon visiting the big and intense (!!) &#8216;DUCKS&#8217; group show at his gallery, GREENPOINT TERMINAL &#8211;  when Brian mentioned his studio was in a space just adjacent, of course &#8211; I asked to check it out.<\/p>\n<p>if the whole, and really . .  explosive &#8211; if you consider how mundane a show focused on &#8216;ducks&#8217; sounds in the first place &#8211;  visual and conceptual content contained in that small gallery space expanded it&#8217;s actual physical space by a factor of at least a 1,000 with the vibrancy of &#8216;DUCKS&#8217;  &#8211; then what  can I say,  the journey  . . just kept on growing.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Brian-Willmont-w-black-mask.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Brian-Willmont-w-black-mask.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Brian-Willmont-w-black-mask\" width=\"540\" height=\"720\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-23229\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Brian-Willmont-w-black-mask.jpg 540w, https:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Brian-Willmont-w-black-mask-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nBRIAN WILLMONT with his work behind him, whole worlds opened up . . on the physical plane of the painted canvases . . <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Brian-Willmont-balck-mask-p.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Brian-Willmont-balck-mask-p.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Brian-Willmont-balck-mask-p\" width=\"540\" height=\"720\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-23230\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Brian-Willmont-balck-mask-p.jpg 540w, https:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Brian-Willmont-balck-mask-p-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nI&#8217;m thinking . . I got the feeling that unlike many other artist-gallerists, Brian was also more open in the dialogs, as opposed to narrow or more focused agendas &#8211;  he wanted to bring to his gallery space. that&#8217;s so rare, I found that a big breath of fresh air.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Brain-Willmont-earlier-inst.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Brain-Willmont-earlier-inst.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Brain-Willmont-earlier-inst\" width=\"720\" height=\"540\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-23238\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Brain-Willmont-earlier-inst.jpg 720w, https:\/\/www.artloversnewyork.com\/zine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Brain-Willmont-earlier-inst-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nan earlier installation archive  &#8211;
