the DAILY MAIL ONLINE is reporting that it’s official .. MICHELLE WILLIAMS is hooked up with local . . . Red Hook Brooklyn rich kid artist . . . DUSTIN YELLIN.<\/p>\n

what can I add to that.<\/p>\n

he was born in Montreal ?
\nwell, he was born in L.A. but his mother’s from Montreal. almost the same deal.<\/p>\n

and, well his ‘gallery’ is no longer called THE INTERCOURSE, that’s so over.
\n(your bad, DAILY MAIL !!)<\/p>\n

it’s now called . . . PIONEER WORKS, after the street the renovated used-to-be 19th C. warehouse, now studio\/gallery\/foundation\/community center . . . is located on.
\nyes, it did get flooded in Sandy, but otherwise, it’s to die for.
\nhey, what’s 7 feet of water. <\/p>\n

ok, so here’s the website: PIONEER WORKS, only the magazine is still called THE INTERCOURSE.<\/a><\/p>\n

knock on wood, it’s actually a beautifully restored space, albeit with all the old interior guts – knocked out. <\/p>\n

it’s got gorgeous gorgeous natural light. and they actually have some pretty good state-of-the-art classes. and, no kidding . . . the name change was a good thing.<\/p>\n

hey, anytime a celeb dares come dance .. in the super hot art kitchen, it’s good for the art world.
\nquestion mark, bye the way (?).
\nat least it’s a little action.
\nmakes up for all those crusty .. so ten years ago, art fairs.<\/p>\n

let’s see. most recently. there was DEMI MOORE with VITO SCHNABEL. and before that, the longer lasting … MARY KATE OLSEN with NATE LOWMAN.<\/p>\n

does MARK RUFFALO, and LEO DiCAPRIO, with GAVIN BROWN, count ?<\/p>\n

\nthese photos were taken just when the place was getting off the ground. beautiful huge space.
\nused to be a TIME\/LIFE magazine, something like that .. warehouse.<\/p>\n

\nthe other end, with office space on the mezzanine.
\nword on the street was it cost 30 million in all, to buy and renovate, or just to renovate ?
\nwhat’s the diff. it might be a tad unrealistic, considering the potential for flood waters, as it faces the East River on one side. I guess there’s a fix – for that, no ?
\nbut you have to give Dustin credit, he did a real archival job. like it was an old timepiece, a watch, instead of an old wood building.
\nit’s a lovin’ thing, right down to the original beams.<\/p>\n

\nplus, banks of windows. it’s got gorgeous natural light, that just floods in.
\nthat’s one of Dustin’s signature ‘serial’ plate glass pieces. who wouldn’t want to show in a space like this. even if you have to build it yourself. <\/p>\n

\nbeyond those windows is a garden, and beyond the garden is an industrial ‘port’ road, and then it’s the East River.<\/p>\n

\nclose-up of the glass piece from the side. it’s made from many layers of plate glass, which are collaged or otherwise drawn or painted on, and then they are melded together.
\nand yes, those mothers . . are heavy.<\/p>\n

\nthe garden was just being excavated.
\nthose are industrial shipping facilities further on, next to the water.<\/p>\n

\nthe building . . it’s hard to guess from the outside, just what hollowed-out spatial madness lies within.
\nlove how it’s been kept .. so low-key in the restoration.
\nthe name change was – good.
