| Mark Enger says that WW I warfare was alot like Medieval times. when you ran out of bullets and the enemy was swarming over the trenches, this was what you had. you could stab as many as fast as you could, with the lethal blade, and the handle was designed to smash faces. according to Mark, there aren't too many trench knives around anymore, esp in mint & lethal condition, like these, though it was American standard issue, in 1917.
