RICHARD DUPONT opens 'TERMINAL STAGE' at ABY ROSEN'S LEVER HOUSE, GLASS WALLED, STREET LEVEL, LOBBY GALLERY, March 13, 2008 |
RICHARD DUPONT. nine self-portraits - based on "full body laser scans", which are then digitally manipulated (laterally & horizontally), converted into a 3D model and finally, cast in polyurethane resin. 'TERMINAL STAGE', LEVER HOUSE LOBBY GALLERY, March 13, 2008 |
RICHARD DUPONT, 'TERMINAL STAGE' - ABY ROSEN takes "public art" to a higher level. the figures are spaced wonderfully. the fact that they are full frontal - seems hardly worth mentioning - Charlie Finch - says "it should stay up . . forever".

RICHARD DUPONT is represented by TRACY WILLIAMS. 'TERMINAL STAGE', LEVER HOUSE LOBBY GALLERY, March 13, 2008
hands and feet ... Tracy kicked off her shoes dancing, but forgot she was in stockings on a polished floor. (is that why most New York women seem to wear their footgear in bare legs?) |
|
RICHARD's family joined him at the opening. wife, Lauren, and 2 daughters. the eldest Ava, looks just like him, the youngest looks just like her mom. RICHARD DUPONT, 'TERMINAL STAGE', LEVER HOUSE LOBBY GALLERY, March 13, 2008 |
ALBERTO MUGRABI and STAVROS NIARCHOS, RICHARD DUPONT, 'TERMINAL STAGE' opening, LEVER HOUSE LOBBY GALLERY, March 13, 2008
the bare bones facts, see: WIKI/STAVROS NIARCHOS, but its his great grandmother, the Mexican born GLORIA GUINNESS - that seems most intriguing: WIKI/GLORIA GUINNESS> |

. . it was kind of ironic, with talk of 800 Warhols and INTERVIEW - to walk down the block and turn the corner - and voila - right back where he started, in window display - ANDY WARHOL, Portrait of Judith Green, 1963-64 - in the GAP window. NYC, March 13, 2008 |

TAMAMI KUBOTA and BILL BRADY of atm Gallery, enjoying the evening's energy, as the opening winds down. atm Gallery, Feb 29, 2008 |
BILL BRADY, with assistant director SARAH MATTES. congrats are in order for Bill - atm Gallery is moving to a bigger space on W 27th Street - next door - to 621 W 27th - the former OLIVER KAMM GALLERY. this will more than double his exhibition space and provide him with a 'real' office space, too. atm Gallery, March 15, 2008
the first opening in the new space will be on FRIDAY, APRIL 4, 2008 - with a show of paintings by ERIC SALL - so this is the last chance, the last week, to see the old atm Gallery and congratulate Bill !! and see TAMAMI'S paintings, too!!
the 2 paintings on the wall are also by TAMAMI KUBOTA, 'Lotus', and 'Full Moon'. |

the cover for a little limited edition (200) 'sketchbook' by MATT LEINES, ($6) on the occasion of his first solo show in NYC,
'The Righteous Age', running February 21 - March 29, 2008 - at CLEMENTINE GALLERY - so, there's also one more week to see this show, too.
the book is published by CANTAB PUBLISHING out of Cambridge, MASS, where you can order it as well. it is small (4 x 5 ins.) but extremely cool, witty and charming, with lots of drawings and a 'big' centerfold pull-out page. only the cover is in color - the inside pages are black and white - well, really dark gray on light green gray.
see: CANTAB PUBLISHING |
MATT LEINES, doesn't like his picture being taken, (neither does RICHARD DUPONT!!) - so this is probably the best, full-on face - photo you are going to catch of him - for a while. at his first solo NYC opening, 'The Righteous Age', CLEMENTINE, Feb 21, 2008 |

there were some banners, our least favorite part of the show.
MATT LEINES, 'yellow', 'red' & 'white flag', dye transfer release on woven polyester, 3 x 5 ft., ea. edition of 50 ($300) each. well, you can say one thing for CLEMENTINE - this show was designed to make money. MATT LEINES, 'The Righteous Age '(?!!), CLEMENTINE, Feb 21, 2008 |
