DAMIEN HIRST large skull/spin art painting. the original early spin art paintings were round, and small, and the canvases were spun on record player-like devices to get the effect. there was even a kid's toy put out in the early 90's - to do kid size spin art. WALTER ROBINSON, of artnet, mastered (& exhibited) the art here, in NYC in the early 80's.

incidently, there were some famous vintage black & white photo PORTRAITS of ANDY WARHOL, by CHRISTOPHER MAKOS, on the wall of the GAGOSIAN GALLERY, as one entered the fashion show. WARHOL'S name (& the FACTORY is invoked ?) .. is somehow part of this LEVI'S JEANS - DESIGNER COLLECTION - TRADEMARK - though, don't think he made any jeans during his lifetime - ? - we're not sure of the exact connection - but LEVI STRAUSS must have paid the WARHOL ESTATE a pretty penny for this hook-up. we also really liked this small series. apparently they aren't in production - just prototypes. The DAMIEN HIRST STUDIO CREW hand painted the 'spin art' fabric and sent it off to, LEVI STRAUSS designer, ADRIAN NYMAN to cut into LEVI'S jeans, shorts & jackets. As, BEN FURGAL would say: 'coooool'.
