an array of small paintings, very poetic in nature, this is one show that IS a must to visit in the quiet aftermath, .. of the days following the crowded opening night. CHERYL DONEGAN, 'LUXURY DUST', OLIVER KAMM / 5BE GALLERY, Sept 8, 2007

timed to coincide with NEW YORK FASHION WEEK - the show runs: SEPT 7 - OCT 13, 2007

you can see all the dresses, even this fancy one, are based on a smock or apron template - that ties in the back, making for easy wearing.

ANDREA ZITTEL made the master template, for the smocks, and then invited various artist/stitchers, to take this basic design - which she provided, and - come up with their own versions - which are displayed here, and thus ..'smockshop' is a kind of collaborative/workshop effort. 2 large photographs of some of the 'smocker' artists was included in the exhibit. the 'smock' is really a kind of tunic or apron, you wear it over a T-SHIRT or other kind of top, (if you want to), and tie it in the back - so it can worn as a daily uniform, with little fuss. ANDREA ZITTEL, 'smockshop', SUSAN INGLETT GALLERY,
