the CHELSEA HOTEL is making newspaper headlines this week - there's a big change happening over there. STANLEY BARD, 73, the man who ran the hotel for the past 50 years, and welcomed the writers, artists and musicians who made it famous, including BOB DYLAN and EDIE SEDGWICK, is being forced out, and the hotel's day-to-day operations are being handed over to a corporate management company. looks like the beginning of the end. you can see the 'Darjeeling' crew on the balcony at the right. in fact, in his own words DAVID WADDELL writes:.."I bought all of this junk from the thrift store to make my sculptures. I let it all sit around until I figure out how to transform the items. Most of the characters were wedding cake figurines which I manipulated with Sculpey in order to get them to do things that I wanted, hence have sex with each other or to adorn them with wigs or bustles. I thought that the iPod was kind of an easy way of showing the work, flipping through the images but everywhere I go and everyone I meet, has never seen anything like it. It is easy and strange".
